21 people die, 241 arrested during Easter festivities-police

21  people lost their lives during easter festivities in various parties of the country while 241 suspects where arrested in kampala while snacking phones and pick pocketing.
Addressing the press today in kampala, the police deputy spokesperson Patrick Onyango said that they registered 8 murders particularly in kampala, Buku, Adjumani, Kyotera, Kotido, Kabong and Busia.
He also said that they registered two deaths by food poisoning in Atyaka Amuru districts,  death by lightning in Mayuge district where three lost their lives while three others were severally injured, two people died by drowning, in Kagolomulo landing site in wakiso district, one suicide incident in kampala and five died as a result of fatal accident at Maya Mpigi district that claimed four and one at Nabirongo, tirinyi road Mbale district.
Onyango revealed that they managed to rescue a pupil by the names of Namulanda Fatima who was kidnapped by a one Mastullah from Buyende district and taken to one of the lodges in Kamuli District before asking the parents for a ransom of four millions shillings.
In the same way they registered three robbery and aggravated robbery cases in Jinja district, Sembabule district and kyegwegwa district were 1.6 millions and 3 iPhones, 450,000 shs and two phones and unestablished money stolen by armed robbers.
Onyango said that despite those few isolated incidents, security was generally calm due to the vigilance of security agencies, public and the heavy deployment in the known black spots especially in kampala.
