Tobacco control activists have revealed that at the earliest of this month of July police and National Environment Management Authority NEMA are in the court process of obtaining a disposal order to destroy over 300 impounded Shisha pots that were picked from various Bars and leisure places around kampala metropolitan area.
In an exclusive interview with this website  the legal officer of Uganda National Health Consumers Organisation UNHCO Moses Talibita said that the Tobacco Control Act allows law enforcement officers to destroy Shisha pots or any other tobacco products when impounded or in their custody since they easily get exposed.Image result for Shisha pots UGANDA
” NEMA and police are going to destroy over 300 Shisha pots that were impounded in Casablanca in Mukono, Buggies, centenary park,  Arua park, cayne, panamera  bar,  and various bars from kabalagala among other places” said Talibita
When asked why it has taken them and the state long to arraign the suspects and the business place before the courts of law,  Talibita attributed it to the scientific evidence which he said it needs thorough analysis and can only be conducted in the government analytical laboratory.
” the good news is that the scientific analysis report has come out and we anticipate that any time before the end of July ends the resident state attorney sitting at the KCCA is going to arraign them before the court.” said Talibita
