6 charged, remanded to Luzira over women kidnaps, murder in Uganda

Law Development Centre Grade one Magistrate Nsenge Roseline has on Friday morning charged and remanded 6 people over kidnaps, extortion (soliciting for ransom) and murders in various parts of the country.

The suspects include Kamada Mugabe(22 years), Olo John Bosco(26 years),Ali Ddumba(35years) a witch doctor, Frank Ssendi(24years),Brian Kaaya(32years) and Herbert Lukwago(36years) were  charged with counts of murder and kidnap of various girls in the country.

It should be noted that after the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence took over investigations, it consequently arrested over 20 being arrested however out of these only six appeared at the Law Development Centre on Friday whereas others are expected appear at Makindye chief magistrate court on Monday 9th over the same  charges of kidnapping, and murdering Nalule Drinah.

It is alleged that the suspects together with others still at large kidnapped and murdered Rose Nakisekka before dumping her body  at Kirinyabigo, Mutundwe Rubaga in Kampala district on May 11.

It is also alleged that on May 24 in Masajja, Wakiso the accused kidnapped Halima Rehema Nabawanika district later killed and dumped her body in the bush.

It is further alleged that on 25th May the group kidnapped with the intent of extorting 115M from Mr. Ssekajja Fred as ransom in order to release Nakisseka Rose when the family failed to raise the sum, the group killed her.

In unusual voices, a one Mugabe Kamada a.k.a Shakulu according to deceased’s relatives, asked court that he should be remanded in a separate prison on personal safety with fear that his co-accused Ddumba Ali also a witchdoctor could harm him

“I request that I am separated from these people because I fear some of them might harm me,” Mugabe pleaded before the magistrate accepted to grant the order.

The magistrate did not allow  the 6 to say a word due to the gravity of the matter which can only be heard by a higher court thus remanding them to Luzira prison until July 11
