The Uganda opposition political parties are upto now caught at cross roads over a single candidate for Bugiri municipality MP seat where JEEMA’s President Assuman Basalirwa and FDC’s Eunice Namatende have been referred to by analysts as the main contenders against the NRM’s undecided candidates.
But though they haven’t decided, the FDC’s Namatende has opened up as being ready to battle it out any candidates of any political alignment and claims that she hasn’t come for conflicts, disunity and poor service delivery as exhibited by most NRM led constituencies.
Namatende who had paid a courtesy call to the party headquarters amidst a dialogue between FDC and JEEMA on Wednesday afternoon said that she is tired of seeing a constituency with poor healg and education system and ready to unity her people who the NRM’s secretary general Hon Justice Kasule Lumamba has tired apart for her political gains.
“Our Busoga leaders are selfish and yet I admire areas with great and developmental leaders, I admire as a leader to reach a public health facility with all facilities that enable a patient to believe h/her healing, I want to lead a constituency with motivated teachers and vibrant education system because as a teacher, I feel crying whenever I see my professional being considered useless” Ms Namatende assured.
“This is a warning to madam and NRM SG Lumumba against disuniting our people for personal and selfish interests because for years she has been leading my vote rigging team and it’s the high time I fought it”. Ms Namatende warned.
