Kitgum woman Member of Parliament Beatrice Atim Anywa credits the prosecution in the murder case where the executive director of Quantum Logistics Mathew Kanyamunyu his fiancée Cynthia Munwangari and brother Joseph Kanyamunyu are charged with murder of the former community development officer in Kasese district Kenneth Akena.
Anywa told journalists at Nakawa magistrates court that investigations in capital offences like murder shouldn’t be rushed if the state is to gather overwhelming evidence that will leave no doubts in the public.
The state prosecutor Racheal Nabwire today told court that investigations into the matter are not yet complete thus a request to the trial Nakawa grade one magistrate Noah Sajjabi for more time which he agreed with thus adjourning the matter to the 17th of January this year and further remanded the trio to luzira.
Prosecution alleges that on November 12, 2016 along Kampala – Jinja Highway opposite Uganda Manufacturers’ Association and Malikh car bond, the trio caused the death of Akena by way of shooting.
The trio have appeared before the same case thrice and been getting the same news that investigations are not yet complete once they are complete they will be committed to high court for the hearing.
