Yesterday but one I had a bitter war with the team sent to me by Prof Mutebile, the Governor Bank of Uganda, to mobilize Masaka residents to attend financial inclusion activities
that the bank has scheduled in Masaka district next month to stimulate inclusive economic growth in Greater Masaka.
The bank is currently constructing a Currency Centre in one of our green belts which we vehemently opposed but that is not the reason for the war, the reason for the war is the fact that the bank without permission opened up our tacked roads in the middle of Masaka town for a sewer pipe of the Currency Centre but instead of replacing the tarmac they removed after installing the sewer pipe they just poured soil that is easily eroded away whenever it rains making the town look shabby.
Later we smiled after I forced the Governor’s team to tour the said affected areas and on seeing their extensive damage to our roads they were shocked and immediately called the Bank’s Chief Engineer who committed himself to put back the roads to their original state before the said scheduled activities for financial inclusion take place.
The Bank Governor himself will launch the said activities and we shall welcome him bit if the said roads arent restored to original state we shall not welcome him.
