The presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) that subscribes to the Antioch Catholic rite in Uganda and also the spiritual director of Namugongo based Mamre International Prayer Centre was recently appointed chairperson of the EOC African bishop by the top leadership of same church headed by Patriarch Bishop Jerold Gliege based in Canada during their conference held on 16th August 2019 at Indiana State in America.
Bishop Kibuuka’s first assignment since he assumed office is to host the second African EOC synod in Uganda slated for 3rd to 7th September that will run under the theme “Evangelical Orthodox Church promotion in Africa”
The jolly charismatic Bishop who revealed the news during the thanks giving divine liturgy of his two years in episcopal and three years ever since he Joined EOC said the synod will focus on the sensitivities and concerns of pastoral missions of their Church.
Bishop Kibuuka thanked God for the achievements registered in the three years so far that include among others baptizing of over 10,000 people, opening up of over 20 churches, presiding over 100 marriages, building of the seminary and the many priests who have joined the Church.
He further implored the public to always keep the church and the up coming synod in their prayers to enable them come up and put into action progressive ideas for the church.
