Catholic lawyers duped judge in the cease fire consent with Bishop Kibuuka

Lawyers representing evangelical Orthodox Church Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka have requested justice Margret Oumo Oguli to reverse the ceases fire agreement with the Uganda Catholic lawyers society on account that they smuggled in terms they had not agreed on.

Counsel Anthony Wameli of wameli and Company Advocates, which represents the charismatic Bishop of Mamre international prayer center namugongo Janda and the Bishop for central and Eastern provinces of uganda Jacinto Kibuuka asserts that the lawyer representing the Uganda Catholic Lawyers Society (Ssemwanga, Muwazi & Co Advocates) departed from the original consent and instead duped a junior lawyer, Mr Richard Wananda, to sign the agreement as well as the judge.

They say that the Catholic Church lawyers took advantage of Mr Wananda, who had gone to court on Monday to present a different consent agreement to Justice Margaret Oguli-Oumo in another case, and duped him into signing theirs.

Wameli and Company Advocates subsequently petitioned the judge to reverse the purported consent agreement by recalling it’s withdraw or the respondent sign on the agreeable consent or fix the matter for hearing.

Mr Anthony Wameli, Bishop Kibuuka’s lawyer, says in the original consent, they did not agree on the ground that Bishop Kibuuka desists from mimicking and imitating the Catholic Church, which ground was later smuggled into the second consent which they say was a misrepresentation.
“once the ground is allowed, it would mean that Bishop Kibuuka can not conduct mass or wear the cassock and if left as it is it would see my client arrested” said Wameli
Bishop Kibuuka dragged the Uganda Catholic Lawyers Society, Kalungu east legislator Joseph Sewungu and Masaka District LC 5 chairperson Jude Mbabaali for infringing on his religious right.
