Cecaf U-20, Uganda 6-1 Burundi as Alpha Thiery gets His First Game
Uganda U-20 the Hippos have got their first win in the tournament outclassing Burundi with a goal thriller (6-1) as Byekwaso targets AFCON U-20 in Mauritania
The Uganda Hippos are looking for their fourth Tittle in Cecafa senior challenge cup U-20 having won it thrice in 1973, 2006 and 2010. The Hippos are also looking for their first Trophy in the space of Ten years since they last won the tournament in 2010.
Uganda started the competetion on Monday settling for a goal-less draw with the newly developed nation in football that is South Sudan.
The head coach of the Hippos Morley Byekwaso descibed it as a turff game since the team conceeded a Red Card in the half time of the game.
Byekwaso has made only two changes in today's game against Burundi bringing in Isma Mugulusi who has scored a brace replacing the suspeded Musa Ramathan and former Proline Striker Ivan Bogere who has got a very good performance also getting a brace, making four goals on U-20 National team.
Raymond Onyai has started on the bench but later came in replacing Richard Basangwa, Josepy kizza Bukenya scored his first goal in the national jersey came in to replace Ivan Asaba.
Starting with Isma Mugulusi to replace Musa Ramathan,it took KCCA FC right winger Steven Sserwadda back in the right back playing with Aziz Kayondo in the left back, Kenneth Ssemakula and Captain Gavin Kizito Mugweri in the defence.
The Midfield has not changed from that which started against Sudan, Midfielder Bobosi Byaharunga has started with Isma Mugulusi, Najib Yiga and Ivan Asaba playing in the wings, Ivan Bogere starting as a target man.
Uganda ended the half Time in the driving seat leading Burundi (2-0) where by the goals came in the last minutes of the first half.
Former Priline striker Ivan Bogere scored the first goal for the Hippos and then at the end of first half, the talented winger Najib Yiga doubled the lead.
Uganda came back from the dressing room with an intetion to add on more goals of which it worked for Morley.
In the beginning of 10 minutes of the second half, Isma Mugulusi made it (3-0) for Uganda before Ivan Bogere getting his second and fourth goal for Uganda.
After making it (4-0), Uganda decided to calm down and started possesing the ball, buliding the attacks from the captain Gavin Kizitto that's where Isma Mugulusi got his second goal and taking Uganda to lead by (5-) before Joseph Kizza Bukenya ending it for Uganda and also scoring his first goal in the national team colours.
This game also saw Bebe Cool's Son Alpha Thiery Ssali getting his first game in this tournament, he came in replacing Najib Yiga.
