Uganda parliamentary police has on Monday morning arrested and detained two of The Alternative youth activities carrying coffin to parliament in protest against women kidnaps.

This comes in a period of 4 months of continued kidnaps and killings of vulnerable people who began by Susan Magara in February this year.

Mr. Lutta Ferdinand and Ms. Achom Becky who have been carrying a coffin, porridge jag, posters, a bell and a mega phone are being detained at CPS waiting to be charged.

While being arrested Achom condemned parliament over neglect by looking on as female Ugandans are being kidnapped and murdered

“We are tired of parliament which has decided to sit back and look on as females are being kidnapped,” Ms. Achom shouted as she led a group of 6 marching to the main entrance of the parliament.

They also accuse female legislators under the leadership of a female speaker Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga of not caring as fellow women are being kidnapped.

Before they could settle their coffin in the middle of parliamentary avenue police intercepted them bu others managed to disappear in thin air.

Speaking to their national coordinator Mr. Norman Tumuhimbise Liberty said that this is just the begining of their operations until legislators wake up.

“More of such peaceful and non violent demonstrations will be exhibited until these sleeping law makers, ministry of internal affairs and security  wake up instead of leaving them to enjoy our taxes” Mr. Tumuhimbise warned.

“That bell is an awakening alarm because people are being kidnap on ransom without clear explanation of the motive from authorities hence forcing us to storm the streets under our fundamental rights” Mr. Tumuhimbise noted
