Court grants activist Buwembo a cash bail

Buganda Road Court Magistrate, Her Worship Nahiria Esther has today afternoon granted the spokesperson of the Jobless Brotherhood Mr. Habib Buwembo a cash bail of Five Hundred Thousand shillings (500,000/=) upon him presenting his two (2) wives namely; Nicoleti Alanga Buwembo 28 and Naiga Alaisa Buwembo (30) as substantial sureties.

Buwembo was on 23rd April 2019 was charged with the offence of public nuisance and remanded to Luzira following the 6TH March 2019 protest where him together with others allegedly brought a coffin to Kampala Business District in respect to the kidnap of a one Akankwasa Juma, a hawker, by the Kampala Capital City Authority law enforcement agents.

Through his lawyers of Kiiza and Mugisha Advocates, Buwembo who seemed not broken said that he is a responsible citizen with two loving wives, whose duo appearance before court is a vindication of the ground.

Buwembo further told court that his hopes of contesting and becoming the next Rubaga South legislator through his activism and advocacy activities, indicate that he is a responsible person, who shall not skip bail. The magistrate has ordered prosecution to disclose evidence file to the accused as early as possible to speedy the hearing of the matter.

The matter has been adjourned to 10th June 2019 for hearing
