Court of appeal denies tablique leader sheik Kamoga bail

Court of appeal has declined to release on bail the tablique leader sheik Yunus Kamoga pending the hearing and disposal of his appeal against the international criminal division conviction on terrorism and a sentence of life imprisonment .
In his appeal sheik Yunus Kamoga gave grands of advanced age, high chance of appeal’ success, substantial sureties, and seriously illness, presumption of innocence at appeal until proven guilty and possibilities of delay in hearing and disposing of the case.
In his ruling justice Christopher Madrama was not persuaded by the applicants submission hence declining to grant him.
Justice Madrama has instead ordered the high court international crimes division registrar to produce the court records of proceedings of the case with in 14 days and the hearing be prepared to kick off with in 6 weeks to enableĀ  expeditious hearing of the case.
After the ruling sheik Yunus Kamoga appealed to the Muslim to remain calm since Allah will help them win.
in the same way former makidye west legislator hajji Hussein Kyanjo said they don’t contest court’s decision but want a speedy hearing of the appeal.
meanwhile security was tight at the court guarded by prison, police and military officers and unlike the many times where there is high turn up of the Muslim community this has not been the case today.
