Covid-19: Islamic University In Uganda Contributes 31.7million To The National Task force To Fight Against Corona virus Pandemic

Summary: following the outbreak of Corona virus Pandemic in Uganda in early March 2020, the president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni urged able companies and individuals to help the vulnerable and needy  through the office of the prime minister.

On the above note, the staff and the management of Islamic University in Uganda lead by the university rector, Dr. Ahmed Kawesa Sengendo has contributed five sets of Automated hands-free hand washing machine, two hundred and fifty 3D Face Shield Masks and four hundred liters of Instant Hand Sanitizer valued at 31.7million  shillings to minister for general duties Hon Mary Karoro Okurut at the office of the prime minister to fight against Covid-19 pandemic

While speaking to this website, Dr. Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo said that the automated hands-free dispenser was innovated with best  technology of which it can give you both water and soap without touching on it.

He added that washing hands is one of the key factor that world health organization recommend and the ministry of health plus the 3D face shield masks made on EU standards because it allows you to get oxygen and you breath normally in addition to protecting you from touching on mouth, nose and eyes since is the scientific part extremely to protect Covid-19.

“We believe that if these are given to Covid-19 task force front line to fight against Covid-19 especially in hospitals like Mulago, Entebe among others it will help much better. Our donations also demonstrate that internally Uganda institutions have capacity to produce some facilities that we need in this particular time and we don’t need to import them any more” Said Dr. Sengendo

He adds that there’s a lot of scientific potential in Uganda both individuals and in universities which just needs the right support from Government to be able to produce whatever needed for fighting Covid-19 or none.

He also thanked the president for the support towards  local content production and protection
