Responding to the call of the president Yoweri K Museveni to be able to support those who are not able to support themselves in this crisis of Covid-19, Pastor Jackson Senyonga Of life Christian Church Bwaise has supported the community around with Posho, beans, sugar and soap worth 300million shillings through the Covid-19 national task force together will Kawempe division task Force at the church promise.
While speaking to the media at life Christian Church Bwaise, Pastor Jackson Senyonga s
aid that many people out there are not able to support themselves especially in this Covid-19 crisis and as a church it’s their role and responsibility to help them not to get rich but to have something to feed their family because they are not working in this lockdown since March up to date.
“Here at life Christian Church the home of P5, we announced our support to community with 300million shillings to the community of Kawempe division and under the alliance of national pastor’s alliance with over 27000 of pastors across the country, I assure you to be patient, we have started today and we are to continue to give them this relief region per region because this is part of church work” Said Pastor Jackson.
However, am here also to remind the general public to stay safe and stay home with continuous washing of hands and also to observe social distance as the main key to fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
He also thanked the president to allow the church to be part of the Covid-19 taskforce force to fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
The Minister for general duties in the office of the prime minister Hon Mary Karoro Okurut who is responsible for national taskforce Covid-19 donations said that on behalf of the president of the republic of Uganda Yoweri Museveni and on behalf of the prime minister thanked pastor Ssenyonga and the entire church for the great contribution.
The Minister added that, normally people go to prime minister’s office to donate their contribution however when she was invited she honored it in order to witness a church giving back to the community.
“This is a great contribution and a milestone to fight Covid-19 not only for the donation but also through you media both radio and TV for the Government to reach where it can’t reach by mouth to mouth. We thank you and we call upon other pastors to copy from you and do the same while giving the community especially in this critical time of Covid-19 pandemic” Said minister Okurut
