Opposition Democratic Party DP has cautioned government against expanding   Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA to nearing metropolitan areas that’s to some parts of Wakiso,  Mukono and Mpigi without first involving people, leaders, cultural and religious institution and all stake holders.
Speaking during the weekly press conference the DP party acting secretary general Dr. Gerald Siranda wondered why government rushes to expand the city yet it has failed to manage the current small city.
He advised that government should first do a survey, consultations, look at Law, the risks and come up with a comprehensive open minded report before rushing the expansion process since its bound to hit a dead end.
“want to expand the city to be part of Buganda yet the constitution is clear that kampala is not part of kampala.
I don’t understand what happens to people when they start working with president Museveni either they leave their brains behind and move with only their body. These things of copy and paste should stop,  you failed to manage the small city and you want to expand it!” Siranda wondered
In the same way Siranda has urged the governor  Bank of Uganda Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile to respect the constitution and accept to be investigated by the Inspector General of Government Irene Mulyagonja if he is not hiding anything.
DP also wants government to regain full responsibility and authority to electricity since its now part and pulse of people’s everyday life, this after president Museveni complain on the operation of UMEME limited.
