DP wants people responsible for fake Heptatis B drugs brought to book

By Ronald Kabuye
Opposition Democratic Party DP has called for a thorough investigation into how the fake Heptatis B drugs got into the country, people behind it and who facilitated it’s administration on innocent Ugandans and consequently be brought to book.
The party spokesperson Kenneth Paul Kakande said that such is a sign that president museveni and his government is tired hence it should retire with immediate effect.
“we can play with politics but not lives of people, such is a clear sign that Mr Museveni can nolonger govern and his tired and the only thing he can do is to go back home, retire and leave the country to the fresh blood” said Kakande

DP is also concerned with the way the electoral commission isĀ  rushing the referendum for the extension of the presidential term from five to seven years.
on this note Kakande cautioned the electoral commission against being an extension of the ruling government to entrench a life presidency rather than doing it’s work independently adding that the opposition is set to oppose the referendum using all means possible besides the petitions in the courts of law that contest the manner in which the constitution was amended to remove the presidential age limit, extend the term limits of MPs and district chairpersons from five to seven years and restoration of presidential term limits.
In the same way Kakande said unit amongst the opposition leaders is the wayforward if they are to take up from the ruling NRM government.
He citedĀ  the Jinja East by elections where FDC’s Paul Mwiru merged as a winner amongst heavy deployment, intimidation and vote bribery.
He added that there are many lessons from the Jinja east by elections which the opposition must use to build on.
“it’s a lesson that opposition leaders should put their differences aside and unit for our mother country, Jinja east spoke on behalf of Ugandans that they were not happy about entrenching a life presidency, it’s a warning to president Museveni that he will rip what he saw and it was clearly evident that president Museveni prefers dense MPs over active MPs which Jinja people refused” said Kakande
On the NRM pronouncement on contesting Mwiru’s victory in courts of law, Kakande laughed over it before asserting that it’s just a move by the NRM to account for the billions of money spent .
