DPP SLAPS TERRORISM CHARGES AGAINST AG. TABLIQ LEADER, KAWEESI MURDER SUSPECTS

The acting tabliq head sheik Yahaya Mwanje and seven others suspects in the murder case of maj.Mohammed Kiggundu have been freshly charged with murder, terrorism and belonging to a Alled Democratic Force ADF a terrorist group at Buganda road chief magistrates court this afternoon.
The Buganda road chief magistrate Jameson Karemani told the accused the cases brought against them and the other two who were not produced in court before urging them to just understand the charges since his court has no mandate to hear such cases.
The charges include Murder of Major Muhammad Kigundu and his body guard Steven Mukasa on the 26th day of November 2016 at masanafu Lubaga division, aiding and abetting terrorism between 2010-2017 in 14 districts of Kampala, wakiso, Mukono, masaka, mayuge, Jinja, kasese, Iganga, Bubiri, Busia, Tororo, Mbarara, Mityana and Mubende to the Allied Democratic Force ADF by way of recruiting and training in acts of terrorism and the four new accused who include Nyanzi Yusuf, Balyejusa Bruhan, Nurdin Lutaaya and Kalyango Jubril accused of belonging to ADF a terrorist group between 2010-2017.
This means the state has withdrew the murder charges against the acting Amir of the Tabliq Muslim sect Sheikh Yahaya Mwanje, 2 boda-boda riders from Nsangi and Kyengera stage Muhammad Buyondo and Abdul Wahaab Ssendegeya, businessman man Musa Ssekandi from the high court to enable them add charges of terrorism and had the four new suspects who also happen to be on remand at Luzira prison as murder suspects for the fallen police spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
The matter has been adjourned to the 13th of September for committal of the accused in the high Court and a production warrant has been issued for the two who didn’t appear in court that’s Balyejusa Bruhan and Nurdin Lutaaya.
Shortly after court the accused’ lawyers led by Friday Robert Kagolo called for investigation into the Director of Public Prosecution DPP because he is doing is unlawful
