EDUCATION SYSTEM IS THE MAJOR CAUSE OF UNEMPLOYMENT-SAYS FAGIL MANDE

The former chairperson, Uganda national examinations board (UNEB) Fagil Mande has urged government to alter education system in order to eliminate on unemployment rate specifically within literate persons.
He says that Uganda education system has greatly contributed to the unemployment rate since it focuses on theories rather than practical skills which leads to the literates to spend more time looking for jobs simply because of the poor working skills and inexperience, indiscipline, wrong attitudes towards work among others.
It’s no that note that fagil appealed to the public to engage their children more into vocational studies to facilitate them become job creators rather job seekers.
Meanwhile he noted that currently, there is stiff competition in the job market between the females and males especially when it comes to government offices.
Fagil cited out various government crucial offices like that of the speaker of parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, executive directors of KCCA Jennifer Ssemakula Musisi, and Uganda national roads authority (UNRA) Allen Kagina among others that are filled with females unlike in the past where males used to dominate.
