Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC party president Eng Patrick Amuriat oboi has revealed that his party has chosen to front it’s candidate Eunice Namatende over jeema’s Asuman Basalirwa for Bugiri municipality member of parliament following a flopped meeting between the two parties last week to resolve on a single opposition candidate.
Amuriate said that as a political party their role is to participate in leadership thus they can not withdraw their candidates from the race without reaching a consensus.
He also introduced a number of the party flag bearer for newly created districts, municipalities and town council to be operationalized in July this year.
These include Waawa Amos Kivumbi for Njeru municipality mayor, Dr. Okello Ekwaro MP Apac, Onega Robert MP Nebbi, Mafabi Juma for Kotido mayor, Moses Mabeno MP for Kotido, Arinaitwe Anselm for Ibanda Mayor, Alex Byaruhanga MP Ibanda municipality, Luba Bumali mayor Bugiri, George Tumwebaze foe sheema mayor, Jumbe Kyeyune Abdullah for Sheema MP, Khalwa Samuel for Buteebo district chairperson and Achola Christine for woman MP for Paliisa district.
Amuriat also said that they had summoned all their candidates at their headquarters to brief and tip on how to defeat the ruling NRM government machinery.
