Opposition Forum for Democratic ChangeĀ  FDC National Council which is slated to sit on Wednesday will among other issues discuss and resolve on the harmonization of the presidential term which doesn’t ram with other national executive committee members thus making the voting process much costly.
It should be noted that the position of the party president is subjected to vote two years before the end of the term for other national executive members.
The party deputy spokesperson Hon. Paul Mwiru could not confirm whether the issue is on the agenda or not but said the National Council being a national policy advisory body can discuss and resolve on any issue.
He added that even when it’s resolved to harmonize the terms, it can not be effected in the next term and will also call to either the president or NEC members to cut short their term.
In the same way mwiru said that all is setĀ  for the national delegates conference which will elect the next party president from 2018 to 2022 on Friday 24th.
According to the program accreditation of 1209 delegates will commence tomorrow Tuesday to Thursday.
The candidates who are eyeing the party top seat include the incumbent maj.gen.Gregory Mugisha Muntu Oyera, former Kumi county legislator Patrick Amuriat Oboi, Dan Malcolm Matsiiko and the youthful candidate Being Moses Byamugisha.
