FDC not happy with COSASE report recommendation for BOU officials, wants them fired together with maj. Gen. Kyaligonza

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC has called for immediate resignation of the governor bank of Uganda Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile, his duty Luis Kasekende and the directors that are responsible for illegal closure of the seven indigenous banks and the mess at the Central Bank.

The call follows a report by the COSASE, that highlighted roast, mismanagement and incompetence by some BOU officials.
Addressing a news conference at the FDC party headquarters in Najjankumbi,  the party spokesperson Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda wondered why the committee didn’t recommend the officials’ resignation, their firing and jail for their errors since the country is not short of competent people.
The party also contests a recommendation by the committee to compensate Dr. Sudhir Rupalereria’s  Crane bank for the  non performing loans worth 570 billion sold together with bank.
Ssemujju based the above urguement on the fact that Sudhir has been given or taken over public property free of charge.

In the same way, FDC is also concerned by the continuous violence and impunity of senior government officials.
Ssemujju cited out incidences of the Ugandan ambassador to Burundi maj. Gen Mataayo Kyaligonza assault of a traffic officer Sgt Esther Namaganda in Seeta Mukono among others.
The party also called for his resignation and termination from his duty his conduct portrays a bad image to the public and to the diplomatic community.
Ssemujju further said such conduct a only encourage violence among ordinary persons which is bad for the country.
