FDC to drag EC to court over local Council swearing in

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC has instructed it’s legal secretary Abdu Nasser Mudhobole to drag the national electoral commission to court over what they termed as illegal swearing in of elected Local Council leaders.
Addressing a news conference at the FDC party headquarters in najjankumbi, the party spokesperson Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda said that the act of swearing in elected leaders without gazetting their election results like its being done by the electrol commission Is illegal.
Ssemujju said that they will ask court to direct the electoral commission to gazette the election results and to nullify all the swearing ceremonies that have been conducted so far.
Ssemujju added that the status quo as it is now doesn’t give a chance to the aggrevated parties to challenge the elections since they can not certify the election results.
Meanwhile a delegation of FDC leaders led by the party President Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi will  meet with the inter religious council at their offices in Mengo tomorrow to enlighten them (FDC) on their intended National dialogue.
Ssemujju Nganda said that as FDC, they are open to dialogue as Long as it has a clear agenda, neutral mediator and a granter since it’s the only way they can righten the wrong path the country has taken.
