Police has not intercepted the Requiem mass organized by the opposition Forum for Democratic Change at the party headquarters in najjankumbi to pray for kidnapped, raped and murdered women in the country and the families.
The mass run under the theme Women lives matter, they are raped, kidnapped, killed, discriminated, murdered and die while giving birth something must be done.
Two families of some the murdered women have broken in tears while giving testimonies on what happened and the unbearable situation they are living in to-date. They included Omulongo Waawa Karoli whose in-law Rachael Atieni was murdered and now taking care of four orphans and Madinah Nalubega who lost her sister nakachwa and now taking care of three children.
The FDC vice president eastern region Hon Salaam Musumba pinned and faulted various institutions for staying silent when such atrocities are committed against women including government, religious and traditional leaders, legislators, security and civil societies.
She added that the only thing they are left to do is to turn to God since government with all the capacity it has choose to neglect them.
meanwhile the FDC party president Eng Patrick Amuriat Oboi expressed dismay over government failure to take women’s lives as a priority yet it spends huge sums of money defending the neighboring countries.
He called upon everyone to speak up against the woman murders and kidnaps since everyone is vulnerable and the culprits to stop the habit.
