The organising committee of the kabaka of Buganda Ronald Mwenda Mutebi II 24th coronation anniversary due on the 31st of this month July in Buwekuula Mubende district has unveiled a week long programme to precede the celebrations.
Addressing journalists at bulange Mengo, the chairperson organising committee who also doubles as the deputy Buganda speaker Owek. Ahmed Lwasa said that the celebrations will commence on the 23rd of this month with the rugby competitions at Namilyango college, on the 28th they will conduct prayers in all the mosques, on the 29th conduct prayers in all seventh day Adventist churches,  participate in cycling competitions, open a health camp at Kiyuni, open a law camp at mayors gardens.
On the 30th the kingdom will take part in prayers in all Catholic, protestants and orthodox churches, there also be a soccer match between Buwekuula and Ssingo at Buwekuula pray ground and youth camp at Muteesa1 royal university Buwekuula where youths will be educated about the current and history of Buganda.
Then the main coronation celebrations will be held on the 31st at Kawere county(saaza)  headquarters and will be graced by the kabaka.
The coronation is under the theme protecting and proper use of land to take Buganda to the top.
Meanwhile the minister in charge of kabaka’ movements Owek. Mariam Nkalubo who also doubles as the minister for gender and women affairs appealed to the public not to disrupt traffic flow by gathering and laying down in the middle of the roads as kabaka approaches but rather to do all that by the road side.
