As opposition forum for Democratic change FDC on Tuesday marked the end of the nomination process for the candidates to vy for party presidency come November.
five people have been dully nominated chaired by Dan Mugarura in this two day process which started yesterday and these in the incumbent MAJ Gen. Mugisha Muntu, the National youth mobilizer Moses Byamugisha, Dan Matsiiko a business man and Patrick Amuriat.
On Tuesday two candidates including the former Kumi county member of parliament Patrick Oboi Amuriat and kawempe south MP have been duly nominated.
Amuriat franked by reasonable supporters unlike the other candidates nominated yesterday Monday exclusive of the incumbent MAJ. Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu Oyera who was franked by reasonable number of people.
After his nomination Amuriat Promised to build party cohesion, reclaim stolen victory, women and youth development and to cause vibrant party structures.
Others he committed to do include fighting against land grabbing, lifting of presidential age limit and will continue to be part of the big team of defiance campaign that will run a non violence campaign to bring about change in country.
Amuriat was franked by some of the part bigwigs including party chairperson Waswa Birigwa, his vice Buganda regional Joyce Nabossa Ssebugwawo, the party National mobiliser Ingrid Turinawe among others
After his nomination he headed to Katwe playground where he held his rally.
Munyagwa appeared for nomination with about 10 people.
Munyagwa told journalists that he doesn’t do things everyone can do that’s why he came with few people before asserting that hon. Amuriat gathered people from his home village in kumi that he came with.
He said that he is going to run a robust campaign and very optimistic that he will win adding that he will also change party constitution to stop talking about only peaceful transfer of power which has informed his decision to introduce military ranks in the various positions once he assumes power.
The temperature generally at the party headquarters where the exercise was conducted has been calm with few around to witness the entire process
It should also be noted that a one Bakubi Lukubira Moses who hails from Mukono district who was among those that picked the nomination forms has not returned after he failed to collect the required delegates signatures
