Five NUP supporters shoot dead in Nakifuma
National Unity Platform (NUP) party has alleged that Uganda Police has shot dead five of their supporters who were following their presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) in Nakifuma on Monday. The party alleges that after a campaign meeting in Nakifuma, Police fired live bullets leaving five of their supporters dead.
“Just after our campaign meeting in Nakifuma earlier this morning, police has fired live bullets to our supporters leaving five of them dead. Many have succumbed to serious injuries when police trucks drove and knocked them down,” NUP posted on Facebook
In the same way Bobi wine thanked the people of Nakifuma and surrounding for turning up in bigger numbers.
“Thank you people of Nakifuma and neighbouring areas for the overwhelming love and support. We do not take this for granted! It is this kind of support that is giving the dictatorship sleepless nights. Ours is a mission to FREEDOM.” posted Bobi wine on facebook.
Bobi Wine is currently on a campaign trail in Mukono, Buikwe and Lugazi today.
It should be noted that earlier in the monday NUP presidential candidate Robert Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine dared president Yoweri Museveni to become true and love his citizens. In a video that was posted by the NTV Uganda, Bobi Wine slammed the government of Uganda about the numbers of people who died from the protests last week claiming that the number presented are not actual.
According to bobi wine, more than 200 people had died during the protests as opposed to what the government claims. DCI’s reports indicate that the country lost 54 people and out of those, 32 were protesters while the rest were those who died accidentally.
