Opposition forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has urged president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to fire the governor Bank of Uganda and other rotten directors asserting that they are the root cause of the scandals and rot at the institution.
While addressing a weekly press conference on Monday, the party spokesperson Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda described bank governor Prof. Mutebile as a scandal himself who is ignorant of the happenings at the institution due to his purported evident tiredness.
“If Mutebile and other people at BOU had been fired, we wouldn’t have all these scandals happening. For as long as Mutebile and others are still in charge expect the worst.
When you take a critical look at Prof. Mutebile, he himself is a scandal since he is sleepy, retired though still in charge” said Ssemujju.
He also decried of president Museveni’s failure to retire old tired people.
Col. Edith Nakalema-led State House Anticorruption Unit arrested several central bank officials in charge of currency, procurement and security after a tip off that some senior officials there had authorised printing of money in excess of about Shs90b.
