The former minister for ethics and integrity Hon James Nsaba Butuuro has lashed at both government officials and agencies over the increasing rate of pornography practices in the country.
Butuuro made the remarks during a pornography control committee symposium with stakeholders held in Kampala.
Nsaba Butuuro attributed the increasing rate of pornography within Uganda to absence of strong, adequate and comprehensive laws addressing the problem due to connivance of some government officials with pornography promoters to introduce and popularise such immoral practices.
He said that pornography practices were mainly introduced by western countries in Uganda in the early 2000 basing them on family break down, adultery and fornication, crime rate among others thus urging government officials and agencies to come out strong and desist from promoting pornography.
Meanwhile Annette Kezaabu Kasimbazi the chairperson Pornography control committee articulated that they are to collaborate with government officials, agencies and others concerned to fight against pornography practices that have buried our culture.
