Gov’t, BCC to popularise skilling the girl child project.

Government in partnership with the black creations collection a new clothing line on market have committed to popularise the presidential initiative on skilling the girl child project by traversing the entire country sensitising about the same and skilling the girl child.
This has been revealed by the private secretary to the president in charge of women affairs and also the coordinator of the presidential initiative princess Pauline Nassolo at the press conference were the official dates for the launch of the black creation collection was unveiled.
The launch that will be held on the 20th of October at imperial royale hotel under the theme Uganda’s fashion Renaissance in an invite only will see the best 10 girls out of the 700 from the initiative showcasing their best out fit made by each one’s hands.
On his part the chief executive officer of Black creations collection who also doubles as the good will ambassador Dr. Joseph Tonye Brown said that their motive is to empower the girl child with skills so that they put quality textile on market, create an identity fashion for not only uganda but the entire African continent and overseas.
In the same way the private secretary to the president in charge of youth Hillary Emma Musoke said that the partnership will help in uplifting the fashion industry in the country since its going to add much value on the locally produced textiles.
He added that once the above is than the graduands and the institutes will be equipped with modern machines and branches across the country will be opened.
The presidential initiative on skilling the girl child project is being piloted in Kampala and so it has over 1000 girls being trained in it. That’s 700 at wandegeya, 200 in Nakulabye and 100 at sub way in Kampala.
