Halt your strike or resign, gov’t cautions striking public servants

Government has revealed that salary enhancement for all public servants will be implemented in the next financial year 2018/2019.
Addressing a press conference at the Uganda media center the minister for public service Muruli Mukasa noted that government is now working on a long term comprehensive salary structure which is expected to be finalized by the end of November 2017 thus an appeal to all public servants who are on strike and those intending to strike to stop and go back to their work.
Muruli called for immediate resignation of those on strike but not willing halt it and those intending to go on industrial action before government takes action.
Governments statements comes at a time when state prosecutors are on strike over low salary, allowances among issues while the medical practitioners set 6th of November as a date to commence their strike and those Uganda local government workers association ULGWA announced their too.
