Statistics from Uganda Red Cross indicate that 30% of Ugandans that need blood annually never access it due to its low distribution and collection levels.
It’s against this background that Uganda rotary club has organized a fundraising that will feature Africa’s Jazz legend Hugh Masekela who is already in the country alongside Isiah Katumwa at Serena hotel this Sunday.
Addressing a news conference the chairperson organizing committee Emmanuel Katongole said that funds realized from the concert will help to finish a rotary blood bank project at Mengo hospital.
The same profits will also enable the completion of the Tele medicine rotary hospital in Mukono that is also built in response to the inadequate health facilities in mukono district yet a lot of accidents occur along jinja road
Meanwhile Hugh Masekela urged the public to be careful while driving so as to prevent avoidable accidents while Isiah Katumwa challenged all musicians to give back to society both they both promising a splendid show.
Tickets for the show go for 200,000, VIP 500,000 and tables in the gallery 5 million shillings.
