The acting executive director of Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA engineer Andrew Kitaka has committed to have an harmonious working relationship with the political wing to better serve the Kampala people.
Engineer Kitaka says he intends to have more engagement with the people before implementing any programme in order to make them appreciate the development programme and this he will do through the political leaders.
He also revealed that priority in his programme is to improve infrastructures, roads, waste management, eliminate dust and mud, increase tax base, internal realignment, implementation of the transport master plan that will work on the flooding and congestion in the city and use of the ICT systems in their operations.
He also called for more funding and staffing to the institution to better the city even more faster.
In the current budget, KCCA was allocated 455 billion shillings however Eng. Kitaka says that’s too little as compared to their work lot which include hospitals, schools, infrastructure, roads, waste management, salaries among others.
