IGAD owes Uganda 1.4million US dollars.

The money is the as the result of accumulated arrears for four years.

Among other member countries owed include Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, Sudan, South Sudan, and Eritrea and it’s only Ethiopia that has been footing the bills of IGAD.

However while in the ongoing 9th summit of IGAD in Jinja-Kamuli, the speaker of parliament of Uganda Rebecca Kadaga has confirmed Uganda’s pay off by December thus year after writing to president Yoweri Museveni who promised to forward the matter to ministry of Finance.

Meanwhile member countries have been also been given a period of three months to have cleared their debts. 2:04AM

Jaelyne Uganda has been urged to protect its beautiful vegetable and tourist centers.

This followed after members of IGAD paying a visit to one of the historical rocky hill of Kagulu found Buyende district in jinja.

The members also carried out a competition of climbing the rocky hill with the locals in which they were challenged.

Meanwhile the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga requested members of IGAD to come and invest in tourism sector more especially that government has built roads and electricity.
