Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC Party says the Inter Party Organisation for Dialogue IPOD summit held last week was just a chat but not a summit as its purported.
Addressing a news conference at the party headquarters, the party’s deputy secretary general Harold Kaija said the discussions and resolutions taken from the meeting are are null and void due to the absence of their party president Patrick Amuriat Oboi.
According to the memorandum of understanding of IPOD states that the IPOD council and summit ceases to be upon absence of one of the political party.
FDC has also implored religious leaders to preach against the biting conditions Ugandans are facing than the usual preaching.
They assert that this is the worst festive seasons Ugandans have had due to the high poverty, bad economy, corruption, tribalism, dictatorship and insecurity levels.
Meanwhile FDC has expressed concerns over the unwarranted arrests of innocent people and soliciting money from them as a way of fighting for their freedom back from both police and the army who also them in the name of being idol and disorderly
They also advised government to first get the root cause of the murders in the country, find a solution as opposed to doing the opposite as it is the case now.
