Junior police officer seeks compensation of 1.2 B from former flying squad commander Muhangi

All is not well with the former flying squad commander Herbert Muhangi after another police officer raising torture, robbery, illegal arrests/detention allegation against him.

AIP Nkwasibwe Ben N1221 attached to the general duties operations has written to IGP to force Muhangi compensate him with shillings 1.2 billions.

Though his letter has an error in compensation figures but he demands compensations of millions of shillings which allegedly Muhangi robbed him off when he arrested him on 18th February 2016 on file number SID GEF 44/2016 over allegedly speaking to the FDC’s strong man Dr. Kizza Besigye which was later was proved as false information.

“I was arrested on the 18th Feb/2016 by ACP Muhangi Herbert who mistreated, tortured and detained for one (01) month on allegations that I had talked to Dr. Kizza Besigye on phone which wasn’t true” The letter reads in parts.

“I lost  lots of money. I therefore ask him to refund my money and also compensate me with (one hundred twenty million Uganda shillings) in a period of two weeks from today (10th /June /2018)” The further reads.

“It is also my humble request that you allow me  retire early so that I can concentrate on looking after my family” The letter concludes before copying the relevant authorities including  the director legal services Uganda police,  commandant P.S.U, Uganda Human rights commission, attorney general and his lawyers.
The development are contained in a letter seen by this website though not yet received by IGP’s office.
However by publication time, our efforts to get a comment over the same from police authorities were futile after all police concerned department spokespersons we reached out to hanged up our calls before according us a listening hear after introducing ourselves as  journalist.
