JUSTICE ALFONSO OWINY DOLLO TO REPLACE KAVUMA AS DEPUTY CJ

President Yoweri Kagutta museveni on the advice of the judicial service commission appointed court of appeal judge Alfonso owiny Dollo as the deputy chief justice replacing Justice Steven Kavuma who will be retiring late this year since he will be clocking the mandated retirement age of justices and that’s 65 year.
The appointment was disclosed in president museveni’ letter dated the 18th of August 2017 to the speaker of parliament which was also copied to the prime minister, minister of justice and constitutional affairs and chairperson judicial service commission.
The president has also appointed justice Richard Buteera and justice Paul Mugamba as justices of the Supreme Court which all is entailed in the presidential letter that seeks for the approval of the trio justices by parliament.
Justice Owiny Dollo is most recently known for handling to its logical conclusion the case of twin bombing in kyadondo and Ethiopian village kabalagala during the World Cup finals in 2010 which left over 70 people dead and many several injuries.
