Lady Justice Catherine Bamugemereire has been appointed to head the judicial commission of inquiry into lands, housing and urban development ministry.
This followed a president museveni’s directive to the lands ministry to establish a commission of inquiry on this matter following the many complaints about the dirty in there.
Others appointed on the commission include Robert Ssebunya, Mary Oduka Achan, Joyce Abasa, Dr. Rose Nakayi, Hon. Freddie Ruhindi and George Bagonza Tinkamayire.
Lady justice Bamugemereire currently serves as a judge at the court of appeal and has chaired various judicial commissions of inquiry including the one that investigated the dirty and problems in kampala capital city authority which led to the oust of the lord mayor Erias Lukwago by the lord councilors which was reversed by the high court judge lady justice Lydia Mugambe
She also headed the recently concluded inquiry into Uganda National roads authority UNRA
Robert Ssebunya is a former member of parliament for kyandodo north now Nansana Municipality, Mary Oduka Achan is a senior advisor, social service delivery cluster at Irish Aid and an eminent woman with the women’s situation room Uganda. Dr. Rose Nakayi she is a law don at makerere university, Hon. Freddie Ruhindi is a former member of parliament for Nakawa division and George Bagonza Tinkamayire former Hoima district chairperson.
