The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Fredrick Mwenda Mutebi II has today lost his aunt Beatrice Juliana Muggale who also happen to be one of the King’s care taker.
The 90 year old Muggale breathed her last this morning on her way to hospital in an ambulance since she was feeling unwell.
The late princess was married to the late Stanley Kitaka a son to the late zakaria Kisingiri who was one of kabaka Daudi Chwa II care taker and signatory to the 1900 agreement on his behalf together with two others.
Breaking the sad news to the press and Buganda at large, the Buganda premier Owekitibwe Charles Peter mayiga revealed that the kabaka loved so much his aunt and on several occasions visited and consulted her in many ways especially on the matters regarding the kingdom.
The kingdom has also put in place a six members committee to harmonise the burrial arrangements with the deceased family which is headed by Owek. Denis Walusimbi Ssengendo the minister in charge of culture and tombs.
Others include Owek. Noah kiyimba, the kingdom’ information minister, Omutaka Kasujju Lubinga, the head of royal clan (ssabalangira) Godfrey Musanje, a family member and a clergy from namirembe cathedral.
The late has been residing at Kabaka anjagala Kunfudde Mengo Lubaga division and is expected to be buried (kept) in the Kasubi tombs.
