The kabaka of Buganda Ronald Mwenda Mutebi has eugolized the fallen former DP President General John Ssebana Kizito and appealed to the public especially the politicians to learn from him especially on practicing truth, justice and hard work for the well being of all.
His message has been delivered by the Buganda premier Charles Peter Mayiga during a requiem mass at Namirembe Cathedral.
Mayiga who also spoke on behalf of Buganda government called upon politicians to be true politicians like Ssebana by harboring a target of straightening the country’ leadership for the welfare of the citizens by delivering the desired social services to them.
He also revealed that Ssebana has lived in three perspective namely as Kabaka’ man, politician and businessman and served all of them diligently before cautioning them from having double standards by sticking to their beliefs.
On the same occasion the government Chief whip hon. Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu who represented government wondered how Ssebana managed to stay in business and politics at the same time.
She also revealed that she was one of the beneficiaries of his wise counsel during the constituent assembly adding that as representative from Buganda region they used to caucus and advised them what to include the constitution for Buganda and Uganda to stay strong before adding that he used to govern his mouth even when provoked.
The presidential general of Democratic Party Norbert Mao appealed to those advocating for peaceful transition of power not to lose hope even after the 30 years of the ruling NRM government.
He also said some of the current wave of politicians are blamed for being thiefs, corrupt, untrustworthy, liars amongst others which is not the case to the late.
On behalf of the children Joseph M Kazito said that in all the jobs his father had, he mostly loved the job of parenting and his family.
Joseph said that the late listened to all, identified potential and nurtured it despite the culture, religion or political background and that he loved his kingdom and the kabaka of Buganda so much.
He also thanked the Kabaka for caring about the late especially while in intensive care unit at nakasero hospital.
“when the kabaka visited him at nakasero hospital you could see that he is really hurt, he went an extra mile to direct the doctors to up date him everyday on the health status of the late” said Kizito
He further revealed that in his last word he told him to tell everyone and ground children not to worry about him thus appealing to the mourners not to worry about the late after he revealed that the late was a self made man when it came to businesses.
The mass was attended to by numerous dignitaries from government, Buganda government and the opposition including the four time presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye, FDC president MAJ. General. Gregory Mugisha Muntu, Rt. Hon John Patrick Amama mbabazi among others.
The late was then taken to SWICO at sure house in kampala one of his businesses where a Requiem mass is to be held led by kampala Catholic archbishop Cyprian Kazito Lwanga then he will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Mpande Luweero District tomorrow saturday.
