KABAKA TO AWARD TOP HONOUR WHILE OPENING THE 25TH LUKIIKO SITTING, JOURNALISTS GIVEN STRICT TERMS

Buganda Kingdom has unveiled the arrangements for the opening of the 25th sitting of the Buganda Lukiiko that is going to be opened by Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi II on the 14th this month.
Addressing a press conference at bulange Mengo, the Lukiiko speaker Owek. Nelson Kawalya said that the sitting will be unique in a way that it will mark  quarter a century of the kabaka rule and Kabaka will be awarding to un specificied  number of people with honours of shields and spears an honour he has taken five years without giving out being one of the most respected honours in the kingdom.
He added that the newly appointed five chiefs and their deputies in diaspora will also thank the kabaka for the appointments.
This time a number of things have changed including security, sitting arrangements, accessibility however tents will be set up in bulange gardens with screens and speakers for people to follow.
In the same way the speaker Nelson Kawalya gave some of the key achievements registered and challenges facing in the 25 years of Kabaka’ rule which included fighting in employment amongst youth, boosting farming by providing seedlings, pioneering medical camps where the subjects get free medical servicing, kabaka role is the fight against polio and others diseases amongst others.
Meanwhile the head of kabaka’ security captain Musaazi has given journalists who will cover the event strict terms including submitting their names prior to event,¬† only 20 journalists will be given access to the Lukiiko and warning that they will not allow anyone journalist who will appear to be not smartly dressed to them among others.
