KADAGA PLEDGES TO SUPPORT POLICE’S HOUSING BUDGET

The speaker of parliament has pledged to back up police in eliminating their problems especially on funding
In her prompt visit to police head quarters Naguru where modern police staff apartments are being built, the speaker of parliament Rt.Hon. Rebbeca Kadaga said that though  parliament had promised in its two previous 2 financial years to provide equipment for the construction of the apartments and also equipping the forensics section and training their experts, it didn’t succeed since the money was allocated for.
Its on the above note she pledged  promised to support police budget for cater for further building of these modern staff.
The speaker also  congratulated the police for the achievements  reached in addition to skilling of  police officers who are helping in the construction of the apartments.
In the same way, the inspector General of police General Edward Kale Kayihura applauded the material suppliers who have provided materials at low costs and the speaker of parliament for the follow up and support towards.
It should be noted that over 1200 units on 17 apartment blocks are being built and these will house police officers of lower ranks that’s from sergeants down.
By the end of the project over 4000 modern apartments will be built and these will house officers from the rank of assistant supperidient of police to lower ranks.
