Kazibwe Bashir nominated for UJA presidency

As we draw near to Uganda Journalists Association UJA elections due on 10th August, new Vision’s investigative journalist Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira has today been nominated to contest for the position of UJA presidency which has brought more momentum in the electoral process.
While addressing a press conference shortly after his nomination, Kazibwe said his manifesto focuses mainly on unit for a purpose, developing journalists by nurturing their minds especially economic wise, develop responsible journalism, promote and defend the rights of journslists that have been curtailed for years in addition to ensuring accountability and transparent.
Kazibwe said he is going to give the association a fresh start by not focusing on the past leaders mistakes but being innovate like creating an investment arm, forming a journalist SACCO, revamping the association and moving to a more spacious and befitting office in the first 100 days.
“We either change leadership for good this time or face a more miserable UJA than the one we have had in the past years.
Vote for Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira, guard our votes jealously and we shall have the change we desire.” said Kazibwe
Others who have picked the nomination forms include Kabuye Ronald who will run for secretary for information and Mukisa Daniel for Organizing secretary, Kigongo Issa for Treasurer
The nomination will close on 7th this month while the General Assembly and elections are scheduled for 10th this month at tick hotel kawempe a Kampala suburb.
