The operation follows a directive by the minister for Kampala Betty Olive Kamya to the street vendors evicted from Kampala streets and join different gazzated markets around the city.
The operation was commanded by KCCA police commandant SSP Kitumwa Rusoke in areas of  Luwum Street, Namirembe road, William Street, Nabugabo, and Nakasero, Bendicto Kiwanuka street where vendors were visible in tears after losing their goods.

Rusoke says the minister was responding to shop traders concerns  who allege that the street vendors take a way their clients yet they don’t pay taxes.
Rusoke also warned that  taxis which load passengers in ungazzetted areas around the city will be impounded in order to reduce traffic jam in the city.Image result for KCCA enforcement raids Kampala streets
