Buganda Road chief magistrate Jameson Karemani has committed the acting tabliq head sheik Yahaya Mwanje and six others suspects who are accused of murdering maj.Mohammed Kiggundu and his bodyguard sgt. Steven Mukasa at Masanafu trading centre in Lubaga division.
Others charges include terrorism, aiding and abetting terrorism and belonging to a Alled Democratic Force ADF a terrorist group.
The same court before committing the seven first read the charges to the seventh accused Bruhan Balyejusa a boda boda rider from Nabweru who was not in court his colleagues appeared for the first time for mention.
The presiding magistrate Jameson Karemani also issued another production warrant for the eighth accused Nurdin Lutaaya who is also on remand on charges of murdering the former police publicist Andrew Felix Kaweesi but was added among the Kigundu murder suspects.
The state accuses the committed persons of murder of Major Muhammad Kigundu and his body guard Steven Mukasa on the 26th day of November 2016 at masanafu Lubaga division, terrorism, aiding and abetting terrorism between 2010-2017 in 14 districts of Kampala, wakiso, Mukono, masaka, mayuge, Jinja, kasese, Iganga, Bubiri, Busia, Tororo, Mbarara, Mityana and Mubende to the Allied Democratic Force ADF by way of recruiting and training in acts of terrorism and the four who were initially not on the charge sheet who include Nyanzi Yusuf, Balyejusa Bruhan, Nurdin Lutaaya and Kalyango Jubril of belonging to ADF a terrorist group between 2010-2017.
Other accused include Tabliq Muslim sect leader Sheikh Yahaya Mwanje, 2 boda-boda riders from Nsangi and Kyengera stage Muhammad Buyondo and Abdul Wahaab Ssendegeya, businessman man Musa Ssekandi.
They have been remanded to Luzira prison since the state has concluded its investigation.
