Libya Has To Answer The Slave Trade Claims Says Andrew Irumba



The pan African pyramid, a civil society organization has today handed over a petition to Libyan ambassador to Uganda H.E Naima Algihani, seeking for more clarification on the alleged slave trade and illegal dentition of African migrants and refugees in Libya. Andrew Irumba Katushabe, chairperson “the pan African pyramid” says more than 20,000 migrants, refugees and asylum seekers are allegedly being unlawfully held in dentition centers, the conditions are inhume with little access to food, water or medical care, they face brutal treatment, beatings, torture and rape, adding that following CNN’s recent allegations of migrant slave auctions’ taking place in Libya, it’s crucial that Libyan government comes out and protect African migrants and refugees from horrific human rights abuses. He asserts that the petition involves various reason including ,seeking to a detailed response statement from the Libyan government on these allegations, release all African migrants and refugees from dentition centers and end the arbitrary dentition of them, investigating all allegations of torture and ill-treatment of refugees and African migrants in Libya among others. Naima Algihani, refuted all this saying theses aggressive and malicious allegations are aimed only at harming the reputation of Libyan embassies on Africa adding that they are to commence investigating over such acts if any, to get long sustainable solutions. Libya is an integral part of African continent and is a founding member of African union that has supported all means and material and moral means to gain the African continent from colonialism and to renounce racial discrimination among the people of this continent, Naima said.”
