Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC Secretary general and Budadiri east member of parliament Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi has revealed why he abstained from contesting for the party presidential seat which term will run from 2017 to 2021.

The party electoral commission chaired by Dan Mugarura on Tuesday concluded the nomination process that saw five candidates dully nominated and these included the incumbent Maj Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu Oyera, the National youth mobilizer Moses Byamugisha, Dan Matsiiko Malcom a business man, the former Kumi county member of parliament Patrick Oboi Amuriat and the kawempe south MP Mubarack Munyagwa  thus the commission slating Wednesday as the day to harmonise their campaign programmes at 2pm that will run from 17th August to 17th December this year.

Mafabi revealed that he choose not to contest despite his potential and many people’s call to vy for the seat simply because he wants to see the entire process conducted in a free and fair manner.

Mafabi lamented about some moles in party who fight tooth and nail to pull down the party members who strive to take the party forward hence citing it as one of the major reason as to why he has decided as the party secretary general to manage the process himself together with the electoral commissioners.

He also cited lack of a commander in the party as another blockage for them to get into power.

“I tell you freedom is not free,  walk to work would have succeeded and ushered us into power but we were betrayed, in 2016 Dr. Kizza Besigye won the elections with 52% but we lacked a commander, so am here to manage these election process so that right Commander is got.” said Nandala.
He further rubbished some media reports that previously surfaced asserting that he (Nandala) is set  to take up the position of governor bank of uganda.

He said that while as he is employable world wide but he can’t take up the mention job and if he was to he would have done before not now or in the future due to the fact that the allegations have been around since 2014.

” Me becoming a governor bank of uganda simply portrays me as a person of lower lobbying capacity since I can be employed any where in the world and there is nothing in becoming governor bank of uganda, besides the allegations have been around since 2014″ said Mafabi.
