Alex Cherotick a private bodyguard to Maj. Juma Seiko who is accused with two counts of murder and attempted murder has been committed to high court for trial.

This after the government prosecutor Emily Ninsiima informed Buganda road chief magistrate Jameson Karemani  that investigations into the matter is complete thus a request for the committal of suspect.

The chief magistrate Jameson Karemani signed the committal papers before further remanding the suspect to luzira prison where he is now.

 Prosecution alleges that on 4th December 2016 at Nakasero Hill road Kampala central division the accused murdered two bodaboda riders Ogwang Lameck and Sembatya Fred

It further alleges that on the same date and venue Cherotich attempted to murder Senkubuge David and Solomon Semaganda at the premises of his boss Maj. Seiko.

The indictment indicates that Cheotick is not an official guard to Maj. Seiko and instead is a home helper, however police found out that the gun he allegedly used to murder the deceased was owned by Maj. Juma Seiko.

Prosecution further revealed that on the fateful day of 4th December 2016 at around 2Am the two motor cyclists together with other friends were  escorting  Mugabi Solomon Semaganda who was so drunk  to Maj Seiko’s premises where he lived, but  upon knocking on the gate Cherotick came out and on noticing people outside he couched his gun and started firing thereby killing the two deceased plus attempting to kill two.

Exhibits such as the gun and cartridges recovered from the scene, postmortem reports of deceaseds and statements have been tendered in court for usage in the trial.
