The Buganda premier Owekitibwe Charles Peter Mayiga has appealed to politicians to always conceede to the out comes of any free and fair elections just like it was the case in the currently concluded forum for Democratic change FDC presidential elections were the former Kumi county legislator Patrick Amuriat oboi emerged the winner.
Mayiga alluded to the same in his speech to the Buganda Lukiiko which closed the year.
He said that politicians should know that elections involve winning and losing thus any candidate who comes out as a looser should instead rally behind the winner to take their party and country forward since they are members of the same family.
He added that any leader who wants to take up the leadership of the country is determined on his actions before the actual take over.
Mayiga in the same way appealed to the public especially the youths to engage in farming especially coffee farming since its must way Ugandans will get rid of poverty.
He also highlighted on the numerous activities that have been in his office before reminding them of the many messages the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Mwenda Mutebi II has been giving Ugandans.
The kabaka’ messages included encouraging the youths to step up and take up leadership positions, the public to stop self undermining but rather to brave up and take up responsibilities, the need to amend the constitution and include the federal system of governance to allow the sharing of power amongst different regions and Ugandans to actively engage in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The same Lukiiko eugolized the late renowned lawyer, Democratic Party leader who was also a former Buganda minister Owek. Joseph Balikuddembe.
They talked of the late as a reliable person who never shyed away from the values he stood for.
