In a bid to improve health working sector, health monitoring unit (HMU) under ministry of health has warned quacked health workers operating across the country.
This has been revealed by Dr. Jackson Ojera Abusu director (HMU) following the recent arrest of Sarah Nakigozi and Justine Nzikiddwa Who have been working at Kawolo hospital and Njeru health centre III as health worker enrolled nurses since 2013, that are currently detained at Kira Police station Wakiso district.
He adds that preliminary investigations have revealed that, the duo have been accessing the pay roll since 2013, using fictitious and fraudulent documentation (transcript and certificates) which detail that they studied enrolled nursing from Mulago school of nursing, a school which last trained enrolled nurses in 1961 whereby documentation indicates that Sarah Nakigozi studied enrolled nurse at Mulago school of nursing from 2006-2008, while Justine Nzikiddwa from 2005-2007.
He further highlighted that, they went on to forge registration certificates from Uganda nurses and midwives council, and now health monitoring unit confirmed from Mulago school of nursing, and Uganda nurses and midwives council that the documents of these ladies are fictitious and highly fraudulent saying the nurses will be charged with forgery, causing financial loss to government.
