Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC says that the first son Maj. Gen. Muhoozi Kaneirugaba’ appointment as presidential advisor about military operation is clear indication that he is being prepared to take up the presidential seat.

According a news conference at Katonga Road, the party’ national chairperson Ambassador Waswa Birigwa also condemned the appointment and promotion of Maj. General Peter Elwelu as the new commander of the UPDF land forces.

He said that the first son’ new appointment as a presidential advisor is part of the big scheme to gain political helm which he says Ugandans will not accept.

“This has been going on for long, the first son’ recruitment of students from Makerere University and preparing them to take over power is now becoming a reality. I believe the appointment is also part of scheme to the political helm but people will not accept it and we shall not accept it.” Birigwa vowed.

Meanwhile FDC also applauded parliamentarians for joining their defiance campaign by rejecting and defying the court order issued by the deputy Chief Justice Steven Kavuma stopping any investigation, questioning or probing into the six billion presidential handshake to 42 public servants for the heritage oil and gas company and Tullow Oil tax attribution case in London.

“this is what we have been earning for, Defiance campaign is all about defying unlawful orders and it is the only way we can liberate this country and we want to appeal to the parliamentarians to stand firm and not to disappoint Ugandans again by taking bribes.” Birigwa appealed

Ambassador Birigwa also asserts that over 68 billion gained from the same oil attribution case has not yet been deposted to the consolidated fund thus appealing to the concerned authorities to further investigate the matter.

He further revealed that FDC has resolved to resume with their national prayers starting next Tuesday the 17th of january since the country is still in the catastrophic situation.
